This series is sponsored by Atrium Health Division of Pharmacy and free to Atrium Health pharmacists. This CE is part of the Pharmacy Resident Grand Rounds Series. This series provides disease state management and drug therapy updates on a variety of topics and are presented by Atrium Health Pharmacy Residents. It consists of eight sessions and offers 1.0 hour of ACPE credit for each session. The CMC Main programs are offered onsite at the Suzanne Freeman Auditorium at CMC Main or by Webinar. The Atrium Ambulatory programs are offered onsite at the Center for Learning & Development, Airport Training Facility, or by Webinar.

The Pharmacists' Role in Managing Patients with HIV in the Acute Care Setting is a knowledge-based CPE activity and will provide education regarding updates in HIV treatment with a focus on the pharmacists 'role in optimizing antiretroviral therapy in the acute care setting.

Objectives

  • List first-line and alternative antiretroviral regimens recommended for adults with HIV
  • Identify situations where antiretroviral administration adjustments are indicated
  • Describe ways that pharmacists can optimize the management of antiretroviral therapy for adults with HIV in the inpatient setting
