This is a revised course title. Listed in our catalog as "Treating Cardiothoracic Surgery Patients Across the Continuum".

This course will briefly review current literature regarding the impact of early mobility on patient outcomes. Common preoperative diagnoses will be discussed focusing on the clinical presentation, and rehabilitation interventions commonly provided before and after cardiothoracic surgery.

The role of rehabilitation staff as part of the interdisciplinary team will also be examined to identify current roles and areas for growth.

  • Examine the role of rehabilitation staff as part of the interdisciplinary team in the management and rehabilitation of cardiothoracic surgery patients
