As demographics rapidly evolve and customer preferences change, efforts to build diversity and inclusion are more common. Charlotte Area Health Education Center (Charlotte AHEC), a division of Atrium Health, has three (3) Certified Diversity Professionals (CDPs)®, a globally-recognized credential awarded by the Institute for Diversity Certification (IDC)®. These trainers have a specialized knowledge of Diversity & Inclusion concepts that can help develop successful diversity practices within a group/organization.
This 2 hour onsite introductory workshop provides an overview of diversity in healthcare. Participants will define diversity; understand cultural competency as it relates to patient outcomes; and how our own unconscious biases and stereotypes could impact patient care.
Objectives
Charlotte AHEC understands that patient care is primary, therefore we are can accommodate your practice schedule to meet your individual training needs. We offer flexible training sessions (morning, lunch or afternoon) on weekdays.
Groups will be charged a flat rate of $500 per session for up to 25 employees. Each session could last up to two (2) hours. Contact hours will be awarded to each participant.
