Businesses in Mecklenburg County including but not limited to- Restaurants, Retail, Entertainment, Lodging, Mobile Food, Daycares, Institutions.
This Training is funded through the Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH).
The purpose of this certification is to encourage COVID-19 conscious establishments throughout Mecklenburg County. This training will reiterate the importance of COVID-19 vaccination, employee health requirements and visually convey to general public that the establishment is educated and practicing awareness surrounding COVID-19.
Who Should Attend?
Only one Supervisory/ Management level individual is required to complete the COVID-19 Business Certification but any or all employees are welcomed to take the training. Only one set of materials will be provided per facility.
Training Format
Online/ self-paced module where participants will review videos and documents, complete an attestation form and complete an evaluation prior to receiving the certification of completion.
Certification Requirements for Business:
Business will provide:
• Owner/manager or supervisor successfully completes online certification course
• Owner/manager or supervisor distributes Employee Health Policy to employees and collects and sends signed forms to MCPH
• Owner/manager or supervisor posts certificate, window cling, and COVID-19 vaccination posters
• Owner/manager or supervisor signs up to receive monthly COVID-19 updates from MCPH
Within 5 days of completing the certification training, MCPH will arrange for the business to receive:
• Sample Employee Health Policy document in both English and Spanish (To have all employees read and sign)
• Formal certificate and window cling (To display in view of customers and employees)
• COVID-19 vaccination posters (To display throughout the facility as desired)
• Monthly COVID-19 update emails (To keep the business informed and aware)
Access Information
The COVID-19 SAFE BUSINESS CERTIFICATION will be made available through the Charlotte AHEC website within the MyAHEC portal. Follow the steps below to begin the series.
1. Log into My Courses and Events on the Charlotte AHEC Website
2. Locate and click on the course
3. You can now begin the course by clicking on "Start Learning Now."
