Health portals are computer systems that allow us to connect with doctors and others in the healthcare space over the Internet to boost quality and efficiency of care, patient convenience and share important information quickly and easily. Unfortunately, many Americans don't realize the benefits that these online health portals can provide to themselves, their families and their neighbors. This series of short videos explores what different health portals can do for us so we can benefit from using these valuable online tools.

Objectives

  • Explain what health portals are and their value to people who use them
  • Describe different types of health portals and their specialized purposes to benefit people
  • Demonstrate how participants can use an the findhelp.org online portal to find assistance for themselves, family or friends finding medically related resources such as food and housing
  • Explain how health portals can benefit users, their families and loved ones in order as a means to encourage participants to consider trying them.
