Description

This quarterly series is designed for nurses to learn more about current issues related to telehealth care. The one-hour sessions will provide up-to-date information presented by subject experts on hot topics relevant to telehealth nursing. Each session will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month through a live webinar from 2 – 3 PM. Please note that the date for May series has been changed to May 19, 2020. The series is open to anyone interested in attending!

Learning Outcome:
To provide up to date knowledge that are relevant to tele health nurses for their daily work.

CE Credit:
1.0 Nursing Contact Hour / 1.0 Contact Hour / 0.1 CEU will be awarded to attendees who participate in the entire session. Nurses can earn up to 3.0 nursing contact hours / 3.0 contact hours / 0.3 CEU for this event.

  • Baker: Discuss the use of effective communication skills to probe with open-ended questions to discover underlying issues.
  • Baker: Discuss ways to educate a client on how to breast make's milk, milk supply issues; real or perceived.
  • Baker: Assess the effectiveness of breastfeeding counseling and when to refer for further assistance.
  • Garrison & McManus: List 3 components of NC medical malpractice law applicable to RNs.
  • Garrison & McManus: List 2 components of NC Board of Nursing guidance for telehealth nursing.
  • Garrison & McManus: List some precautions that nurses can take to avoid lawsuits.
  • Garrison & McManus: Identify legal concepts and how they apply to nursing practice.
  • Grinton - Discuss the school and community based virtual care clinics initiative and the impact it makes to the health of the school-aged children and the community.
