Description

This day-long conference will offer a variety of presentations designed specifically for healthcare professionals to help them explore best practices in Geriatric care. This conference will focus on integrated care practices and will foster discussion on how you, as a professional working with the geriatric population, can work to improve the care of your elderly patients or clients. Multiple sessions throughout the day will address the most prevalent conditions among the geriatric population and practical steps for treating those conditions as well as community resources and initiatives.

Objectives

  • Define what integrated care means for the aging population.
  • Discuss the Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and how those can be generalized and integrated into practice by any healthcare professional.
  • Review the most prevalent conditions among the geriatric population and discuss practical steps for maximizing care for those conditions.

Description
Everyone knows dance is a wonderful way to improve flexibility, strength, and range of motion. But the benefits don’t stop there. Current research says dance is the ultimate at staving off memory loss, offering expressive opportunities, creating community, and nurturing all that is human inside each one of us. This workshop invites participants to Move and be Moved by the Dimensions of Dance. No experience required.
