This program provides in-depth instruction to coders on HCCs and their importance in the current healthcare environment. Participants will review the HCC reimbursement methodology and how it works and analyze the RAF (Risk Adjustment Factor) score and how it is calculated. CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) HCC reporting rules and the RADV audit process will also be covered. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss important ICD-10 coding guidelines and key documentation issues that impact coding for HCCs. The instructor will emphasize how to select the best diagnosis codes for inclusion on a claim when multiple diagnosis codes are supported by the documentation.
**All participants should bring a copy of the ICD-10-CM manual with them.
