Do’s and Don’ts of the Listserv

Here are some hints on how to utilize the listserv to keep the group user-friendly for everyone.

Do:

  • Use a descriptive subject line.
  • Introduce yourself/your practice (name, practice type, etc.) when reaching out to the listserv. The listserv has a wide variety of practices including primary care, behavioral health, specialists, FQHC’s, single provider, group practices, etc.
  • Reply directly to the person asking a question.
  • Include a signature block in your email.
  • Be considerate of others.
  • Concisely and clearly write your question.

Don't:

  • Do not include any information that would be HIPAA protected.
  • Do not attach documents/files you don’t intend everyone to have, you cannot recall an email.
