Complex PTSD complicates relationships and blocks intimacy, making relationships feel like a struggle. In this session, we will discuss how a trauma-informed approach to helping couples and family systems can give hope through empathy and compassion. The 4 Rs (Realize, Recognize, Respond, and Resist Retraumatization) and Compassion-Focused Theory will guide us to provide resources that clients can use to affirm themselves and their partners when traumatic pasts appear in the present.
