This module is designed for parents, youth-serving organizations, professionals working with children, and concerned citizens who want to learn how to protect children. Topics include: types of child maltreatment, signs and symptoms of child maltreatment, appropriate response to suspicion or disclosure of abuse, NC mandatory reporting laws, the child advocacy center model, and strategies to keep kids safe.
The content in this module has been developed by experts from Pat's Place, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, and the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office to create a training recognizing and responding to child abuse.
