Target Audience

Nurses, Social Workers, Community Health Workers, Physical Therapists, Counselors, Activity Professional, and any other healthcare professionals interested in the impact social isolation can have on long-term care facility residents, families and staff.

Description

The technical interventions to managing infection disease and isolation are well defined, including equipment and procedures. Much less defined is the impact to groups of human beings who are suddenly separated from other human beings; their families, their facility neighbors and peers, the staff. This online recorded module will discuss the impact and practical, everyday strategies staff can use to address isolation for themselves, families and other informal care partners, and residents.
