What is a Webinar?

Short for a Web-based seminar, a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web (per Webopedia).

Live Stream Webinars at South Piedmont AHEC can be accessed by your home device/computer where you view the speaker's presentation while it is going on ("live"). You just need an internet connection and a computer/device with sound. You ask questions by typing into a chat box.

To participate and receive credit for a webinar, YOUR COMPUTER MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS. If these guidelines are not followed prior to the webinar and you cannot log into the webinar, you will not receive a refund or credit.

Test Your Device and Network

To make sure you are able to join a webinar, you can test your computer or device by going to the Zoom Test Page.

Do you need an account to use Zoom?

A Zoom account is not required if you are strictly joining Zoom Meetings as a participant. If someone invites you to their meeting, you can join as a participant without creating an account.

** If your connection is not constant/consistent you will not be able to access the webinar. If your connection drops you, then you are dropped out of the webinar and must log back in. This will cause your attendance to be affected. **

On the Day of the Webinar

You will receive an email invitation about 60 minutes before the webinar starts with a link to get into the webinar. Click on the enclosed link in that email to enter the webinar and wait to be accepted by the administrator. You can do this up to 15 minutes before the webinar begins. You will not be accepted prior to that time. If you use webmail you will need to copy the link (url) in that email and paste it into a new browser in order to access the webinar.

Once you are in, you will be able to hear the presentation as it happens and ask questions through a chat box, if you like.

After the Webinar

You will receive an email within 24-48 hours that will contain an evaluation link. You may also login to your dashboard at www.southpiedmontahec.org/dashboard to complete the eval and download your certificate. This MUST be completed to be able to receive your certificate.

Citrix / WebApps

Atrium Health Employees please be aware that if you access your Outlook remotely or go through WebApps while at work for Outlook there is a known issue when trying to click on links to view Zoom Webinars/Meetings. Citrix may not allow you to listen to the provided audio or connect your Webcam(if applicable). To solve this issue please copy and paste or type any links that you receive via e-mail pertaining to South Piedmont AHEC Webinars into a web browser on your desktop such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari and locate the page that way. Users that access Outlook directly from their desktop should not be affected by this issue and should be able to click on the links provided.
