About the Allied Health Education Team

The mission of Charlotte AHEC's Allied Health Education team is to provide quality educational opportunities for healthcare professionals. We build partnerships, promote recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, and advance healthcare in the communities we serve.

The term "Allied Health" is used to identify a group of health professions. There are approximately two million allied health professionals in the United States. These professionals comprise 60 percent of the healthcare workforce.

The Allied Health Education discipline provides educational training, technical assistance, and consultation to various healthcare and human services professionals at the undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate levels. Allied Health Education service areas include:
