NC AHEC Scholars and High school students that are interested in careers in healthcare.
Calling all HOSA Advisors, Health Science Teachers and high school students interested in a career in healthcare! Join us for a virtual shadowing event. If you are having a tough time finding shadowing opportunities due to COVID-19, then this is your chance to observe a live patient procedure with UNC Adams School of Dentistry faculty. You will learn the basics about careers in dentistry through our interactive online module and then as you watch the live virtual event, you have the opportunity to interact with the faculty.
We encourage HOSA Advisors and Health Science Teachers to host classroom viewing sessions for their students. For more information about hosting a viewing session for your students, please contact Sophia Moore-Dennis at Sophia.moore-dennis@atriumhealth.org.
There are two ways to register: Individual student online registration OR participate in a classroom viewing session. If you are registering as an individual student, get permission to view during the school day from the appropriate school official then proceed with the online registration. If you are participating in a classroom viewing session, contact your HOSA Advisor and/or Health Science Teacher for instructions on viewing with them and complete the Careers in Dentistry 101 module at least one week prior to the event.
All students will need to complete the Careers in Dentistry 101 module at least 1 week prior to the event in order to receive login information.
