Target Audience

Any middle or high school student.

Description

This module introduces the learner to the pharmacy profession by discussing the pharmacy team and explaining their roles and responsibilities. The learner will also gain knowledge about different types of pharmacy practice. In addition, there is an empathy-related activity that will provide the learner with a better understanding of how patients may manage multiple prescription medications. Learners will observe the complexity of scheduling medications based on prescriber instructions and the use of weekly pill boxes utilized to increase patient compliance. By the end of the module, learners will have a clear understanding of the pharmacy profession as well as, a roadmap that outlines the necessary steps needed to become a pharmacy professional.
