This workshop is for Parents, Educators, Healthcare Providers, Youth Faith ministries, Organization employees that service children and youth, and those working in our justice community who are interested in creating and building a more resilient workplace and community.
Roughly 60 percent of children experience or are subject to traumatic/ adverse events in their childhood (Copeland, 2018) and the effects are greater than one can imagine, affecting children’s holistic well-being (National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), 2017). This trauma-informed workshop will focus on ways to strengthen your relationship with children to help them overcome and shine in the face of adversity. Research indicates that secure, attuned and responsive relationships are the most significant deterrent to stressful and toxic events. But what exactly does this look like with children of all ages? Can I use the same skills I use with my child or family? This workshop will provide practical skills and strategies to use with children and teens of all ages who have experienced trauma or adverse events. The goal is to assist every caregiver and adult to build stronger, more enduring relationships with children struggling to recover from adverse, stressful, traumatic events.
