This course aims to discuss a variety of medical and neoplastic diseases affecting the kidney, bladder and prostate, with specific guidance for practicing pathologists and trainees. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Agnes Fogo, an internationally-recognized nephropathologist from Vanderbilt University who will deliver the 18th Annual Walter R. Benson Lecture. Dr. Fogo will speak about the critical medical renal diagnoses to recognize in surgical pathology specimens. Additional topics include the urological management of renal neoplasms, emerging entities in renal neoplasia, urine cytology, laboratory diagnosis of urinary tract infections, bladder cancer and its mimics, updates in prostate cancer grading and reporting and immunohistochemistry in genitourinary malignancy. Ample time will be provided for discussion and personal interaction between the speakers and attendees.
