Description

Sponsored by the NC AHEC, this webinar will feature three lively and informative presentations, by recognized authorities, on topics directly affecting the role of rural nursing in North Carolina.

The goal of this statewide NC AHEC initiative is to inform health care providers and others about social determinants of health in NC and how it is impacted by COVID 19 pandemic. The increasing value of telehealth and its role optimizing patient care, in context of the pandemic and its implications for rural nursing. We will have an opportunity to hear from a family physician, Dr. Melissa Zook who is practicing cradle-to-grave medicine in the Appalachian foothills of eastern Kentucky and how she connects with her patients through storytelling.

The NC AHEC Program provides and supports educational activities and services with a focus on primary care in rural communities and those with less access to resources to recruit, train, and retain the workforce needed to create a healthy North Carolina.

This program is sponsored by the NC AHEC Program Office and is jointly provided by all nine AHECs in NC.
