Objectives

  • Explain the goals and outcomes of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol implementation
  • Discuss the evidence-based role of intravenous lidocaine infusions for pain management in surgical patients
  • Identify potential dosing regimens and surgical patient populations that may benefit from intravenous ketamine infusions
  • Describe the key safety and efficacy considerations related to the use of gabapentin and methocarbamol as part of a multimodal pain management strategy in surgical patients
