Objectives

  • Identify information to be included on exam
  • Identify methods to study for test
  • Identify internal and external customer/supplier relationships
  • Integrate performance improvement concepts within an organization
  • Develop or coordinate development of processes and outcome measures
  • Participate in organize-wide strategic planning including the development of mission, vision, and leadership values and commitment
  • Facilitate assessment of the organization's culture
  • Link strategic goals with quality improvement activities
  • Design systems for and/or coordinate performance of case/care/disease/utilization management
  • Design a risk management program
  • Develop written plans for quality and related functions
  • Participate in preparing/managing operating budgets and conducting cost/benefit analysis
  • Facilitate establishment of performance improvement oversight group and establish priorities for process improvement activities
  • Participate in the development of clinical/critical pathways
  • Participate in the credentialing and privileging process
  • Participate in the quality and related function review and service specific review
  • Use and interpret comparative and benchmarking data to analyze performance
  • Maintain confidentiality of performance improvement activities, records, and reports
  • Perform or oversee data collection methodology using knowledge of epidemiological theory of data collection and analysis
  • Use basic statistical tools to describe data
  • Use or coordinate the use of process analysis tools to display data
  • Interpret data to support decision making
