Description

Precision medicine has the potential to impact prevention methods, public health, and health disparities.

This session will cover recent advances in precision medicine along with a discussion of the application of precision medicine in the realm of prevention and public health.
The overview will include a case study with a review of the evidence for radiographic screening and behavior changes to delay the onset and proactively treat hereditary cancer.
Discussion will focus on the complexity of implementing precision medicine within primary care settings, the use of decision support tools for effective implementation, and the potential impact on health disparities.
