  • Discuss ethical and Legal issues to consider when working with breastfeeding mothers and babies: 1. Breastfeeding in public 2. Clinical competencies 3. Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) 4. Principles of confidentiality 5. WHO code –advocacy and policy
  • Explain treatment modalities for tongue-tied babies
  • Outline the follow-up nursing care needed after tongue-tie treatment
  • Describe maternal complications that can impact the success of breastfeeding, including their care management practices for each complication
  • Identify basic patient care and education needed for nurses to support the breastfeeding mother and baby dyad.
  • Describe ways to influence others toward positive breastfeeding culture and practices
