Description

We all do projects all the time; frequently without realizing it is a project! Healthcare projects carry concerns, not always found in traditional management or even ‘regular’ Project Management. This one-day module introduces anyone working in Healthcare to Project Management and its issues. Our model of Planning, Organizing, Scheduling, Controlling and Managing Change, with simple and effective tools and techniques, is presented and practiced. The overall objectives of this workshop are to inform participants in Healthcare of their roles in projects, and to enable negotiation, communication and coordination to help you and your project survive!

Introduction and references to the CMS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, XLC, eXpedited Project Life Cycle are also included.

Instructional methods for this special full-day module are lecture, discussion and case study team exercises. Upon request, we will include additional detailed references and samples of the CMS project life cycle and applicable in-house templates for on-the-job use.

Participants involved with PMI® and the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional – PMP®, CAPM® or PMI-PBA programs, earn 8 PDUs or 8 “Contact Hours”. Continuing Education credits are earned by students with a HIMSS credential and .8 CEUs are also earned and accepted by most Healthcare organizations.
