Target Audience

Any licensed personnel interested in learning how Clinical Aromatherapy can supplement current medical interventions to improve patient experience, reduction of symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, pain, insomnia, etc. Personnel included: RNs, LPNs, RTs, OTs, STs, PTs, NPs, PAs, MD, Rad Techs, Massage Therapists, Chaplains, Chaplain residents, Integrative Health Practitioners or Integrative Health Volunteers.

Description

Learn the basic information on the use of inhaled clinical aromatherapy in the healthcare environment by licensed healthcare personnel. Participants will learn about the background, safety, benefits, and practical application of essential oils.

Upon completion of this program, and as an Inhaled Clinical Aromatherapy Champion (ICAC)*, you will have the credentials to be able to administer Inhaled Clinical Aromatherapy (ICA) independently. CNAs, HCTs, Psych Techs, and sitters, are excluded from independent administration of ICA, as this is not in their scope of practice.
* Based on DHHSR scope of practice regulations only Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Radiographic Technologists, Physicians, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Registered Dieticians, Chaplains, Chaplain Residents, Lactation Consultants, Licensed Athletic Trainers and other licensed staff designated as Integrative Health Practitioners or Integrative Health Volunteers, will be able to independently administer ICA
