The goal of process analysis is to use Excel to 1) identify quality and performance issues, 2) identify the potential causes of problems, 3) identify potential solutions, and 4) monitor the effectiveness of solutions implemented. The goal of the statistical process control (SPC) is to build a SPC system in Excel to monitor systems and determine when performance has changed sufficiently to warrant investigation and possibly corrective action.
