This event is joint-provided by Charlotte AHEC and Mountain AHEC and is partially supported by the NC AHEC Investments in Future Grant

NC AHEC Nurse Council presents the Inaugural Statewide Celebration of Rural Nursing Conference on December 1, 2017. This conference will be hosted at six different rural sites on the same day. Please come join us in celebration of rural health nursing! This will provide networking opportunity to connect with each other.

Objectives

  • Discuss the impact of health disparities on populations in rural areas.
  • Identify five-step action plan, ALGEE, to support someone developing signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in an emotional crisis.
  • Discuss strategies to move beyond compassion fatigue or burnout into thriving.
  • Discuss how to build a supportive community around neighbors affected by the opioid crisis.
  • Identify at least one Essential Oil used to relieve anxiety/stress, promote sleep and enhance sense of well-being.
  • State the benefits of using Healing Touch as an integrative complementary therapy to support and improve patient outcomes.
