RNs or LPNs caring for aging population in an acute care, long term, or home/community care settings.
This program is provided in cooperation with UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing.
Caring for the aging population presents unique clinical challenges. As the world population ages there is increased focus on living longer and maintaining quality of life while aging. It is essential for nurses to address the multiple complex health care needs of this population. This program will provide discussion on ways to assist elders in maintaining health and quality of life and assist in distinguishing the processes of “normal aging” and illness.
