This knowledge-based CPE activity will disseminate key concepts to better understand the clinical utility of applying pharmacogenomics to personalize medication therapy management.

This activity is eligible for ACPE credit, which will be applied for through the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, a continuing education provider accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.

Objectives

  • Define pharmacogenomics and identify key concepts to determine the impact of pharmacogenomics in medication therapy management
  • Review key drug-gene interactions and their impact on drug efficacy and/or toxicity
  • Identify clinical tools to assist with pharmacogenomics implementation
  • Describe the major barriers to the routine implementation of pharmacogenomics across practice sites
