Target Audience

Youth grades 6-8 who are interested in becoming safe baby sitters, who enjoy taking care of children, and who love having fun!

Description

SafeSitter Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone whoÂ’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if thereÂ’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice CPR and choking rescue!

Teaching methodology includes hands-on manikin practice, small group interactive learning, role-playing, & games. As an official Safe Sitter® teaching site, Charlotte AHEC utilizes only trained Instructors with a low ratio of students to Instructors thus ensuring high quality and compliance with teaching methodologies.

Those who complete this program are prepared with the knowledge they need to prevent problems and handle unexpected emergencies.

CPR Disclaimer:
Students learn how to do CPR on a child and infant, but NOT adult CPR. Therefore, they will NOT be officially certified in CPR, but will learn an important skill that could save someone's life.
