Description

This live webinar now has a new date!!!

The neurosurgical ICU is a wonderful place for introduction to ICU care as patients are more likely to be surgical and often not in the ICU as long as other patients in different ICUs. While the turnaround might occur more often, this doesn’t mean the patients themselves are easy to treat. This can either be the start of care for a patient as they arrive right after surgery or after suffering a massive stroke or it can be in the middle of the hospital stay if they have had post-op complications resulting in a stroke or a worsening stroke. There are lot of factors to consider when treating a patient who has ended up in the neurosurgical ICU.

This course will give the tools needed to perform thorough chart reviews, understand what is going on with the patient and how to appropriately decide on a plan of care while properly communicating with the multidisciplinary team. Clinicians will be equipped to provide care in the neurosurgical ICU based on the topics covered.
