Description

Even experienced clinicians often struggle with the complications of working with people living with dementia.

This advanced interactive workshop will build on a shared basic understanding developed in the "Part 1 - Creating Successful Rehabilitation Outcomes for People Living with Dementia" course. Along with the impact of dementia on cognition, function and rehab, this course will also build on skills in communication and approach and working within the environment and managing pain and other behaviors associated with unmet needs. Specific care approaches and plans for people at different and transitioning levels of dementias will be explored.

The conclusion of the workshop focuses on making changes to promote these new strategies within current settings of care.

This is an advanced course. The Part 1 - "Creating Successful Rehabilitation Outcomes for People Living with Dementia" course is not required. However, prework will be requested for participants who did not attend the Part 1 course.
