Description

Obesity is a widely-accepted risk factor for the development of osteoarthritis (OA). In fact, nearly one-third of al US adults with obesity have some form of doctor-diagnosed arthritis, with OA being the most common form.
Musculoskeletal pain is associated with both conditions and is a major contributor to disability in these populations, with personal and societal impact. Exercise should be a first-line intervention for obesity and OA, as it has been shown to positively influence these conditions with respect to reduced musculoskeltal pain.

This program focuses in on these topics with 3 E-Learning Modules.

Module 1- Introduction: How Weight Affects Our Joints
Explains the relationship between obesity and OA

Module 2- Let's Get Moving: Exercise Recommendations
Identifies current guidelines for exercise prescriptions that address both OA risk factors and OA symptoms.

Module 3-Talking To Your Patients About Exercise
Equips providers for talking with patients about physical activity and identifies local and national resources.

In order to unlock the evaluation and credit, you need to pass all 3 post-tests.
