Description

Why Should YOU be a Helper?
One of the best ways to deepen your understanding of Healing Touch is to re-take each level of Healing Touch after you have had some time to practice the techniques. You will find that you hear different things each time and that your capacity to absorb the information increases with repeated exposure to the material. Offering to come as a class helper is a way to repeat classes in lieu of paying the $225 repeat fee.

It is important that you honor your commitment to be there. If something comes up that you need to cancel, please give plenty of time (2 to 3 weeks) to find another helper to fill your spot. We often have a waiting list of people wanting to come as helpers but since it requires the commitment of a whole weekend, people often need advanced notice to be able to serve as a helper. It is important for helpers to be there both days. As you know, the energy builds in each group and that is part of the richness of the experience. Your energy presence in the group is important!

Before the class starts, and ideally before the students arrive, the instructor likes to set the energy for the classroom and the weekend. This is also their opportunity to attune energies with the helper(s) and with the class participants prior to their arrival. The instructor and the helpers will stand together in a circle, usually right in the middle of the circle of chairs, and the instructor will guide them in a short meditation and intention setting for the class. Please arrive on time so there is plenty of time to do that ritual together. Please arrive 30 minutes before the class starts on the first day.

When the students are practicing techniques, a big part of your job is to simply hold the energy for the class if you are not participating in the practice. Some students like to have someone near watching them so they can ask questions, etc. For others, their learning experience is stifled if there is an instructor or helper standing right there watching their every move. We want people to not only learn the more left brain hand placements, but to keep their right brain, their intuitive self, very involved as well. It may be a student places their hand in the wrong spot at first, but if you watch them for a bit, they self adjust as they learn to follow the energy and as they learn to use their Technique cards. If you jump in too soon to correct their technique, you rob them of a very valuable learning experience that will help the technique “live” in their cellular memory rather than simply in their left brain. If you see someone very “off” in their technique, quietly point it out to me first. Sometimes helpers are over-zealous to share what they know but just as you had space to organically grow into your HT wisdom, so too do the students in my classes need time to move into their learning in their natural organic way of unfolding. Do be sure you have thoroughly reviewed the techniques as well so if someone does have a question, you can give them an accurate answer.
