Target Audience

Social workers, psychologists, licensed professional counselors, educators, school personnel, mental health professionals, clinicians, health and human service practitioners, and other health care professionals.

Description

This course provides an extensive overview of assessment types, with an emphasis on Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs), primarily for children.

The assessment process will be reviewed in depth, including gathering of history, determining functioning in essential domains, diagnostic formulation, and the setting of appropriate treatment recommendations. Guidance will be offered for effective writing and documentation, in accordance with best practice and Medicaid requirements. Suggestions will also be made about providing helpful feedback to individuals in a debriefing session. Templates for effective CCAs will be provided, as well as opportunities to create and critique samples from assessments.
