It isn’t always easy learning about the conditions that prompted your client’s visit to your office. Several barriers may exist during the transaction to gain an understanding. These barriers can be the client’s inability to express the problem, trust issues, resistance, or some type of counter-transference that skews your clinical abilities. Clinicians must be present and have the self-awareness to work through these challenges. This workshop will share strategies and successes of working with diverse clients who struggle with emotional pain.
