Description

This course is intended for occupational and physical therapists/assistants; and speech-language pathologists who currently treat or have an interest in treating patients with cancer. Attendees will be given evidence-based tools to use when evaluating cancer survivors, developing treatment plans and addressing common physical and cognitive impairments caused by cancer or its treatments.

  • Define cancer rehabilitation and its role in cancer survivorship

  • Understand the medical management of cancer survivors and how it impacts therapy participation
  • Identify common therapy outcome measures used with cancer patients and how to incorporate these into goal setting at all points of the cancer care continuum
