Target Audience

Physicians, nurses, physician practice staff and all other health care professionals interested in improving patient and other healthcare delivery outcomes by applying QI methods and tools to their work.

Description

At this practical, hands-on workshop participants will gain the knowledge and skills to implement quality improvement (QI) or process improvement (PI) techniques at/in their professional setting. Basic QI methodology will be discussed such as the Model for Improvement, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, identifying project teams, and aim and goal setting. The methodology discussed may be utilized in any setting and applied to any clinical or administrative function. Participants will be given tools to immediately return to their work setting and implement simple QI or PI activities.

Please note: This is a 2 part course. Partial credit will not be given; you must attend both sessions.
