Description

Become Health Coaching Buddies Together:
Get Out of Your Rut and into a New Grove

As peers, you can learn how to coach each other to change any unhealthy habit. The Health Coaching Buddies (HCB) learning platform allows you to learn anytime, anyplace, anywhere and with anyone of your choosing. This process enables you and your peers to develop health coaching skills for everyday life.

You know what you should do, but you don’t do it, right?
How can you close the knowledge-action gap?
1. Explore Deep Change—What’s holding you back and keeping you in your rut?
2. Make Deep Change—What will inspire and motivate you to get into a new groove?
3. Sustain Deep Change—What will commit you to make and sustain change?

HCB is like AA to alcohol treatment programs, except it is under the stewardship of the health and community organizations. It goes beyond (1-to-1) clinical encounters and (1-to-n) group encounters to (n-to-n) self-organizing social networks. As healthcare professionals learning in peer relationships, we can role model effective ways of 1) improving our own health and well-being to patients and their families and 2) create social networks to sustain behavior change.

Health Movements = Leadership + Professional + Social Movements
We can set up reciprocal peer health coaching at all levels: leaders, health professionals and the general public. Leadership, professional and social movements can work synergistically together to motivate healthy habits in order to prevent, reverse and treat chronic diseases.
