This course will explore the biomechanical rationale for interventions for osteoarthritis and tendinopathies, as well as recent refereed journal articles that support the best practices to help patients who have these pathologies.

Participants should come away with practical knowledge to help them explore etiologic factors and make informed decisions about effective intervention strategies.

  • Plan strategies for protecting articular cartilage from further damage, keeping the original equipment and avoiding total joint replacement
  • Plan and implement interventions to protect tendon pulley mechanisms from tensile stress, compressive stress and friction abrasion
  • Implement effective strategies from rehabilitating chronic tendinosis and acute tendinitis
