HEROES Health Career Connection (H2C2)

October 2012 - May 2013

H2C2 is a health career club for high school students that are interested in learning more about careers in healthcare. It meets once a month from 6pm - 8pm. Students will thoroughly enjoy health science workshops, field trips, health career speakers, games and so much more! Registration for this school year is now closed. Check back at the end of the summer for the 2013-2014 application.

SAT Prep Strategies Workshop

February 22-23, 2013

Register today! Raise your SAT scores! This course is taught by Mr. Morrison Giffen of the Princeton Review. Mr. Giffen has over 15 years of experience in providing successful, high quality test preparation for SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT students. Students will understand the importance of the SAT, learn strategies for reading and math, take a mock SAT exam, and receive helpful feedback during the exam scoring and review session.

Future Leaders in Healthcare Conference

Future Leaders in Healthcare LogoThe North Carolina AHEC in conjunction with its Health Careers and Workforce Diversity Council will host its annual Future Leaders in Healthcare Conference in a different city in North Carolina every year. This conference is for 9th-12th grade students who are interested in a career in healthcare. The conference will introduce students to healthcare professionals, college and university representatives, an array of workshops and speakers and extra-curricular activities designed with students in mind.

HEROES Summer Program

This one week residential program is for students in grades 10-12 (2012 - 2013 school year) who have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. Students will interact with healthcare professionals and participate in an array of medical science workshops designed to expose them to various careers in healthcare. Students from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools also qualify to receive course credit through the CMS Academic Internship Program. For more information and to apply Click Here.
