AHEC Quality Initiatives
About Us
The Charlotte AHEC offers a full range of educational and outreach services in support of quality and practice improvement initiatives. We can assist providers in accomplishing all facets of a quality improvement project including:
- Data collection and assessment
- Project implementation and training
- Outcomes measurement and evaluation
Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Education (CE) credit is also available for participation in these practice-based learning and improvement (PBLI) initiatives. This innovative approach to CME allows physicians and their office staff to analyze processes of care and redesign practice specific mechanisms to improve patient care without leaving the practice setting.
Quality Initiatives supports and reflects state-of-the-art clinical process improvement methodology, the ACGME Clinical Core Competencies, and CME and maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements of the AAFP, AAP, and ABIM. The Charlotte AHEC has conducted other quality improvement initiatives related to hypertension, smoking cessation, pediatric preventive services, open access scheduling, and ADHD.
