The Charlotte Area Health Education Center, a part of the NC AHEC Program, strives to fulfill its mission of providing quality educational opportunities for all healthcare professionals by building partnerships, promoting recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, and advancing healthcare in the communities we serve. We provide our services to healthcare professionals of the following counties: Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Stanly, and Union.
Currently at Charlotte AHEC, we are working to increase and enhance all of our services by:
- Focusing on interdisciplinary education
- Expanding Diversity program
- Developing management and leadership workshops
- Increasing the numbers of RN Refresher students
- Creating CME / CE eLearning modules with Charlotte AHEC Connect
- Improving our Workshop Schedule utility and Online Registration process
- Increasing awareness of the AHEC Digital Library (ADL)
- Looking for opportunities to develop educational activities in new sites in each of our eight counties

Health Careers (K-12)
Our Office of Health Careers (K-12) also offers some minimum fee-based classes geared towards students, teachers and community leaders. These workshops currently focus on SAT Prep Strategies for high school students and SAT Prep Strategies training for teachers.
